Hanami!

It's finally Spring!! Soon I'll be able to turn off my heater and wear less than two layers of clothing at school. Cherry blossom (sakura) season has arrived, which is a huge deal in Japan. People like to have "viewing parties" (hanami) where they sit underneath the trees and just take in the scenery. There's cherry blossom trees on almost every street, so it puts you in a good mood just to step outside. This is a great change from the gloomy, windy winter.

In other news, I just got back from spending a week in Ottawa with Adam. It was a GREAT week, mostly spent watching TV and eating delicious hamburgers. It was so nice finally being able to wake up next to each other again. The highlight was coming back from the airport and being welcomed home by my good pal Domo-kun (in the form of a delicious hazelnut cake):

Thanks baby! It was the best present :)
